The Cooke 20-60mm T3.1 is Cooke's most compact vintage zoom and the most robust performance. It offers sharper performance at wider apertures and exhibits minimal chromatic aberrations, a common issue even among contemporary prime lenses. Its sharpness carries the distinct, flattering characteristics typical of Cooke lenses, with a slight warmth in color rendition. Featuring a 9-blade petal-shaped iris, the lens produces stunning bokeh when stopped down. Thanks to its substantial front element, it's prone to beautiful lens flares if desired, all while effectively controlling focus breathing, particularly at the wide end, where it's most noticeable.
With the addition of the Technovision Shiga Rear Anamorphic 2x PL Mount Adapter which is specifically designed for Cooke Varotal Zooms, this converted anamorphic zoom gives an entirely new look to the Varo-Panchro Lens. With 2x anamorphic flaring, the bokeh does not fully extend to the full oval style seen in native 2x anamorphics but the look is certainly there. This lens will cover Alexa Mini Open Gate 4:3 and there is no worry of vignetting throughout the entire range.
