Blackmagic PYXIS 6K Cinema Camera L / EF / PL + Monitor
The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera takes the digital film innovations of the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K and turns it into a box-style cinema camera with a native Leica L lens mount with customizable side plates. A full-frame 6K sensor captures rich colors, accurate skin tones, and a wide 13-stop dynamic range with its expanded 36 x 24mm sensor. Record both Blackmagic RAW and H.265 proxy files to the cloud or even stream directly to your social media platform of choice via Ethernet or mobile 4G/5G technology. The PYXIS can film up to 6K Open Gate 3:2 video at 36 fps or 6K Anamorphic 6:5 video at 60 fps, among other selectable resolutions.
We chose the Leica L Mount as we believe it is the most efficient method of switching between our lens options. In the past other Blackmagic cameras have either had to be EF or PL but not interchangeable on the fly. Now with the new PYXIS L Mount Camera you can swap between EF and PL adapters and use more of a variety of lenses.
Our camera kit includes the Pyxis Monitor, CFexpress Type B, Samsung SSD media, Core SWX BP-U Batteries with USB-C and D-Tap ports, BP-U to V-Mount adapter and Gold Mount adapter. V-Mount / Gold Mount batteries are not included.
The ergonomically efficient design of this box camera is added to by the modular cage from MID49. The Top Plate provides 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes with ARRI accessory pins, M4x20mm ARRI standard threaded holes, and ventilation holes for the PYXIS fan. The ARCA Swiss top handle has 1/4-20, 3/8-16 with ARRI locating pins, and M4x20mm threaded holes plus two hot shoe mounts.
The Baseline 15mm LW baseplate ARCA Swiss camera dovetail interface on top and ARRI standard dovetail interface on the bottom The side plate provides 1/4-20, 3/8-16 with ARRI locating pins, an ARRI standard rosette, and M4x20mm threaded holes. A marked set of 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 holes are on the sensor axis and the plate is the correct thickness to mount the camera vertically on Baseline 15mm LW baseplate and use 15mm rods at the correct lens height.
Finally, the Audio Breakout AB-9 is passive adapter that converts the camera's front mini XLR and rear 3.5mm TRS plug into two standard, full-size XLRs. Input 1 - balanced audio with phantom power via camera menu and Input 2 - unbalanced audio, no phantom power available.
