ARRI cmotion Cinefade VariND KIT
The cmotion Cinefade VariND from ARRI allows you to vary depth of field in one shot at constant exposure. It's compatible with any analog film or digital camera with a cine lens that has a manual geared aperture ring and accurate T-stop markings. It's also compatible with all ARRI MLB matte boxes. The VariND takes up two filter slots in VariND mode and one filter slot in RotaPola mode.
Two buttons on the VariND itself allow the ND value to be adjusted directly in a third of a stop without the need for an LCS. The optional cmotion cPRO hand unit can also be incorporated for remote control. It has four axis to which the VariND can be assigned. Whenever the camera is inaccessible, whether it's on a crane or on a Steadicam setup, the Cinefade VariND allows precise exposure adjustment and enables dynamic exposure control, such as for interior-to-exterior transition shots without riding the iris and affecting the depth of field. At full transmission the cmotion Cinefade VariND filters swallow exactly 1.5 stops of light (ND 0.4).
